...for food!

Lately I have been obsessing over my new exercise regime and now I have came across a group of foods called "fat burning foods". Fat burning foods are foods that burn more calories than the calorie content of the food itself, there by fighting stored fat. These fat burning foods are natural plant foods. If you eat these foods and exercise regularly for even as much as an hour a day you will increase the rate of your metabolism and and burn more calories (fat) at a faster rate for several hours even after exercise. The secret fact to losing weight is to eat and drink the right type of foods and drinks until you are satisfied. These foods are ; Citrus fruits such as oranges, apples, calcium rich dairy products, nuts and chilies! Also don't banish your self from chocolate and sweets it is said that having a chocolate bar per five days is also beneficent as it is rich in iron.

Another fact I didn't know was that if you skip meals or food it will slow down your metabolism and your health will deteriorate. Surprising? I think so... especially since I have been trying to eat less in order to lose weight. Well considering I love oranges and dairy products I will definitely start eating more fat burning foods!

...for a Super Hero!

Everyone knew Kim Kardashian was a vixen turned model turned actress turned mogul...but who knew she is also a hero? One of Kim Kardashian's followers on twitter named "iwishiwaskim" tweeted: "I’m getting head to toe plastic surgery next week to look like @kimkardashian so my husband won’t leave me." When Kim saw the tweet she promptly tweeted her back saying "NO". Kim then continued saying "Pls dont,Ur husband should love u 4 who u are! Don’t try 2 b someone else. Im sure u are beautiful inside &out! Just as u are" Kim also told all her followers that they should not try to change their appearance to please others finishing with: "Don’t change yourself for anybody but yourself…be happy with who u are! Someone will appreciate and adore u just as you are"

Wise words Kim!

As a basketball fan, more specifically a LA Lakers fan to me this man is a walking legend. He has already won 5championship titles as the team captain of the biggest NBA franchise Lakers. This means that he has one more championship title than Shaqueal O'Neil. Kobe has had his share of controversy with rape allegations coming from his mistress and was made to go to court. Ofcourse he was cleared of all charges but did have to amend his now broken marraige and career. Most thought that that was it for LA Laker star but Kobe was deteremined to prove them otherwise. Since then he has won numerous MVP titles and has even been recognised by Magic Johnson and Michael Jordan.

"I wouldn't want to face Kobe on the court. He really plays hard"- Michael Jordan

"Kobe Bryant is the one legendary player of this century"-Magic Johnson

I am not sure who these sculptures were made by but I will update it when I do. In the mean time look at how cool they are :)

"Is HipHop dead or has it just been reborn?"

For some time now, this question has been the spark that would cause many heated arguments in the hair salons, barbers, streets and schools. With that said, it is about time I address it on this page. With the raise of artist's such Gucci Mane, Soulja Boy, Flocka Locka and even Flo-rida it is pretty clear as too see why some feel HipHop is now dead and no longer relevant and in its place is this new generic form of rappers rhyming about materials and life style. It is clear to see that HipHop has now been centred around "bling" and groupies. In all honesty when I first heard Soulja Boy's debut single I thought it would be a one off, that it was just a fun summer song released by a young boy. Unfortuntley I was wrong, this was indeed his peak. From that song on he continued to murder this beloved genre I call HipHop. I won't even bother with Gucci Mane or Flocka Locka because as you can tell from their name, they are jokes.

On the other hand however we have rappers such as T.I, Kanye West, Eminem and Jayz who still carry the torch of HipHop in a relevant manner. I know that Eminem was somewhat not a serious rapper when he was on the come up but with his latest three albums he has proved that he can rap serious about something meaningful and he can do it well. We all know what Jayz has achieved in the rap game but as Eminem him self, "He is still under rated." T.I continues to charm audiences with his old school swag and Kanye entertains others with his new school persona. I know that from looking at this list you see that all the positive rappers are also the four top selling artist in the genre and all that is missing is Lil Wayne. Well once Wayne wakes up and starts rapping about something other than his money, fame and start to rap about his come up and rap relevancy I am positive he could be ranked as a great HipHop artist. In the mean time, he clearly is not the Best Rapper alive but indeed the Best Rapper alive according to non fans.

To conclude, HipHop is not dead, yet, it is dying. But will be able to survive if the love for the music over rides the hunger for fame and fortune.

...for a fashion fix!

This is as i promised what I wore yesterday. Personally I love the whole boy look, so the red checkered shirt added that masculinity in the style, paired with a simple white vest and a pair of red shoes. The shoes conitued the masculinity of the shirt so I wore skinny jeans to add that femine touch. The jewlery consisted of a simple silver chain and red, black and silver thin punk bangles.

This is just some photography that gave me a giggle, so why not share it with you! :) Spread your mind the world is bigger than what meets the naked eye. The photographer is Maximus Chatsky.

...for Barbie!

This is Nicki Minaj the young creative female rapper that is taking the whole world by storm. She is signed to Young Money and was first introduced to the mainstream world on the smash hit "Bedrock" in which she was the only female vocalist. Nicki's creative swag, cartoonish raps, colourful wigs and amazing body have led Nicki to being crowned the Harajuku Barbie. Before all of this fame Nicki was growing popular among the underground music scene with her unique mixtapes. However Nicki Minaj has been making head lines these days for her "feud" with fellow rapper Lil Kim. But in all honesty there isn't really a feud. It is more of Lil Kim attacking Nicki Minaj and claiming that Minaj has disrespected her and that Minaj should should "pay her homage". Im sorry but since when do people ask others to pay them homage? Especially when the Nicki refers to Kim as one of her influences. Anyway Nicki Minaj's new single "Your Love" has been burning up iTunes charts and it is the best selling single to be realesed by a female artist in this decade. Congrats Nicki!

Lebrons no longer a free agent, he has now signed with the Miami Heat and the whole of Miami is celebrating! With Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and now Lebron James they have a strong team and are definetly going to be strong contenders in the next NBA season, BUT they haven't yet won anything so why the celebrations? They still have to face Lakers that consists of Kobe Bryant, Lamar Odom, Ron Artest, Eric Fisher and Shannon Brown. Come on now! Anyway well done to Miami for luring in LBJ but goodluck trying to beat the Lakers!

...to get married!

Finally Lala Vasquez will be a wife and no longer a "wifey". Yep that's right after years and a baby Carmelo Anthony FINALLY decided it was time to 'put a ring on it'. Anyway congrats to the beautiful couple! :)

...bad luck?

Okay normaly I only blog about positivity because I don't believe in hating, but it has come to my and alot of others attention that Rihanna might be bad luck for Matt Kemp. Since their romance began blossoming his scores began sinking. Some people are even saying that Rihanna is almost as bad luck to Matt as Jessica Simpson was to Tony Romo. However it was thought that the superstar might have been as good luck to Matt's career as Kim Kardashian was to Reggie Bush and as Khloe Kardashian was to Lamar Odom. Oh well maybe it is just in the Kardashian genes? Maybe next time Riri.

...to fly!

I don't have alot to say about this post to be honest, I mean what do you say when someone shows you a flying car? The guy filling up the petrol is ofcourse the genius who made this car. This is literally FLY! I mean the design isn't so attractive but the concept of flying is.

...for recongnition!

Hello world, this young lady here is Teyana Taylor, discovered by Pharell, she began making headlines in 2009 for her rumoured romance with Chris Brown which was indeed a bromance. But Teyana is only 19 and has already worked alongside Jay Z, Missy Eliot, Chris Brown and at the age of 16 she choregraphed Beyonce's "Ring the Alarm". She also appeared on MTV's Sweet Sixteen. Her debut single was released last year and is entitled "Google me" but her album still has no release date yet. This is wait is because Teyana decided to make some changes to her song choices since having legal problems with one of her songs "Smooches". Teyana and Kelly Rowland both recorded the song and planned to release it in their own way: Teyana's version featured Ludacris and Kelly's had no featured artist. But since Kelly had bought it first it was legally hers. Since then Teyana has been modelling, choregraphing and writting new material for both herself and others.

Go Google Teyana Taylor!

...for hair!

Vanessa Hudgens has got it right when it comes to her hair. It is simple, edgy, fun and sweet. When straightened it looks edgier and if you are trying to create a softer look curl it up like Vanessa has done here.

...for Fefe Dobson!

Most people aren't aware of Fefe Dobson so it comes as a surprise to them when I say I am a big fan of her music and style. Then after people take a look at her music videos they often reply "She's alot like Rihanna". Well , what they don't realise is that Rihanna is alot like Fefe! Fefe was signed to the EXACT same label as Rihanna in 2003 and had the look since, then Rihanna was signed in 2005 and only developed this look in 2008! The speculation is that Fefe among with other artists was dropped from Def Jam so that they could develop and spend money on Rihanna. Little did Fefe know that Rihanna would also be taking her style. Now Fefe is back and stronger than ever with her leading single "Ghost" already getting the shine it deserves!

... for a fashion fix

I slipped up yesterday and forgot totally about the weekly fashion fix post! My bad. Anyway this weeks fashion challenge was based around this simple pearl-opaque bracelet. With its soft colours and playful mixture all tied up in a white bow, it is easy to see that this look should be a fun and cute look. In order to match the bracelet I had to look for that same soft nude colour and the shape of them adds a bit of edge and maturity. The sweatshirt is simple but has a beaded shoulder that adds that fun and glamorous look. What I was trying to achieve with the skirt is to continue the simplicity and innocence of the sweatshirt but also add the edge with the bandage effect. The shoes are easy going and great to look at but it is also has the exact same colour that the bangles and the earrings add as well as the grey from the top and skirt. They are just the perfect connection between the two colours. This look is perfect for spring and summer and when paired up with a pair of tights maybe even winter. :)

... to chuck up your deuces!

While the rest of the world is debating if his tears were genuine or wheter they were false, Chris Brown is celebrating his new number one with Tyga and Kevin McCall. Chris Brown has had a tough year up untill now. His latest single of his mixtape "Fan of a Fan" , "Deuces" has climbed it's way to number one. With it's smooth sailing beat and Brown's smooth voice along with catchy lyrics provided by Tyga and Kevin this is an instant hit. Congratulations Chris!

...to look closely!

It was during this year's basketball Play Offs that I realised the striking resemblance that Chris Brown has to NBA Lakers star Shannon Brown. It has been debated whethere these two men looking alike and sharing the same last name is a coincidence or whether they may be related. This whole spark started after they were spotted hanging out at the end of the game. It is also being used as the reason why during all the Laker home games that Chris Brown managed to get the coveted courtside seats. Personally I don't believe the men are related but I do see the see the resemblance. Either this year is seeing a better turn for both of the Brown's with Shannon getting a renewed contract with Lakers and Chris being allowed to perform at the BET's.

Perhaps it's the Brown name ... or as some see the Brown genes?

...for a congratulations!

I am not a big tennis fan, well to be honest, I don't even glance at a tennis game. But I am a fan of giving a congratulation where one is deserved. For eleven years now Serena and Venus Williams and have been dominating this sport , they have nine titles between them. However this post is not about the sisters , it's about Serena. So congratulation Serena! :)

... for a new fashion icon!

Since Amber Rose has came on to the scene on the arms of the fashion Don, Kanye West, her style was an instant eye catcher. Amber is a tall, curvy and sassy vixen with a past. Amber used to be a stripper in Philly but was reborn as this fashion icon. Amber's still is sure to make her stand out in a busy crowd with her clean shaven head and golden sun kissed tan, but don't expect this girl to be talkative or outgoing because this diva is soft spoken.Although she is constantly reminded of her past I believe that everyone deserves a second chance and this is her chance. Everyone has a past, be it good or be it bad, and that means noone has the right to judge anyone. You either like her or you don't. In my case I am eating up the plate of wickedness she is bringing to the table. She constantly dresses to impress and stays on point despite her on and off relationship with Kanye (which is apparently now off).

Amber gets a thumbs up!

...to discuss!

.................................... Natural Hair ..........................................Weave

Today's discussion is the on going and heated topic in the black community; weaves. For a long time now weaves have been growing popular among black women and it is only coming into the public light now because of its grown popularity among celebrities. Even though the weave has a current popularity it has a much deeper root. The pledge against wigs, weaves and perms started during slavery. Back in slavery men and women would perm their hair in attempt to be accepted by the white masters. Hence the reason why weaves have become a problem in the black community as unnatural hair is considered a weakness and enabling of white supremacy. Another reason that the "weave" topic is heated is because their is a certain belief that it is specifically the darker women who wear weaves. This adds fuel to the fire because often the light skinned woman with longer hair are seen as better than the dark women with shorter hair. This often leads to segregation between the light skinned women and the dark skinned women. Light skinned women sometimes feel they are better than the darker women or are sometimes judged by the darker women and hated because of this. The reason for this is again because the lighter women bare a closer resemblance to the Caucasian women.

However, now it is not just black women who are wearing weaves and it is no longer for acceptance. Many black women who have long hair naturally choose to wear weaves because they believe that it is easier to handle or they feel it is safer to change weaves instead of making risky choices with their own hair. Personally I believe that if a woman wishes to wear a weave then she should go for it regardless of her race, just as long as she has confidence in who she is. For centuries black women who wear weaves have been accused of self hate and accused of wanting to be Caucasian: well wake up world! It is not only whites that have silky straight hair. You can get that same hair across the globe from India , to China and even some parts in Africa. If wearing a weave is what you choose to do, then do it!

... to get plastic

For a while now I have been following a great band called ''Laze and Royal'' (who are now signed to Warner Brothers Music ), and they have been working with a new artist called Cosmo. Her sound is a very nice mixture of Hip Hop and Pop. She refers to her sound as Hip Pop. She is now also signed to Warner Brother records. Cosmo definatley stands out not only because of her fresh sound but also because of her fresh get ups! Her crazy fun outfits and pettite frame have led her to getting the name CosmoDoll. But this doll is not all face; her raps are just as good as the rappers of this generation and if music fails to give her success Cosmo can always fall back on modelling and photography. Go listen to her song Lights Out!

P.S: This photograph is one of her own photography!

...to go into the Cyber Future

Photography by Benedict Campbell. The aim of this is to question the future; will it be controlled by humans or is our destiny leading us to a Cyber Future? In these photographs Benedict Campbell's opionion is clear, he believes we are all soon going to buy into the Cyber world or be forced into it. Can you feel the discomfort in the first two pictures? The humans in these photographs are being transformed into robots, the first lady has almost completed her transformation and the second man has just started his transformation and is still and lifeless. The third picture is the begining of the creation of Human like Robots and the fourth is a complete human like robot. The last photograph is more of a typical robot.
