...for J.Cole

With all this hype surrounding Drake, it must come as a schock to hear of a new artist taking some of the shine. Both artists have reached their fame because of the success that their mixtapes saw. However J.Cole is going in a different route than Drake. Drake is known for looking upto artists such as Kanye and Jay Z but J.Cole is inspired by the likes of Tupac and Nas. J.Cole is a new artist and is the first artist to be signed to Jay Z's Roc Nation. With Jay Z being considered the ''best rapper alive'' and being responsible for the success of one of the Rnb and Pop's biggest star, Rihanna, there is big things destined for J.Cole.

...to buy!

There is not alot to say in this post. I came across this sweatshirt and instantly fell in love with it on the website ''www.dopechef.co.uk''. To be honest there is alot of other sweatshirts, T-shirts and hoody's that I loved. This line is slowly making a name for itself in the Urban world with people like Jim Jones and Tinie Tempah rocking it. Get yours now while it is still exclusive and affordable! I will definitely be getting mine soon.

...to discuss!

Check Spelling
The discussion of today is Street art. Is it art or graffiti?

Personally, I enjoy all different forms of art. When I look at a painting by Michael Angelo I see classical art, I appreciate the messages that Angelo was trying to deliver. However when I look at art by Magdy ( a famous street artist) I see the story of this generation told through a painting. Then when I see art such as the picture above I feel like it is this generations form of expression. I don't see this as disgusting, I see it as creative and talent.

However, when an amateur or a hooligan tries to spray paint his name or other ridiculous stuff then we have graffiti. Art is a form of expression and unless it is in anyway artistic and with the consent of the person who owns the public property it is in my books considered as graffiti.

...to remember Antoine de Saint-Exupery!

100 years ago today, the world saw the birth of one of the best writers. Antoine de Saint-Expurey is best remembered for his novel The Little Prince and his book about aviation and adventure. He was a successful commercial pilot before World War 2. Antoine joined the french air force on the outbreak of war. After a spell of writing in the United States, he joined Free French Forces. Unfortunately he disappeared on a reconnaissance flight over the Mediterranean in July 1994.

Happy Birthday Antoine! :)

...to gain Power.

I must admit, although I have been a Kanye West fan from the get go, I was just as sceptical as the critics when he revealed that he was going to release ''808 and Heartbreaks'' as a singing album. It caught me off guard and to be honest I wasn't expecting much at all from him. However once I heard ''Love Lockdown'' I was instantly pleasantly surprised. As I said before I have been a Kanye fan for a long time and I loved all of his previous albums but I personally believed that Kanye had outdone himself and that that was the peak of his career. So even though I was excited to hear that Kanye was back in the studio I was excited and again a little sceptical. After all how do you follow up an epic album such as ''808 and Heartbreaks''? Then I heard the title of the new album would be 'Good Ass Job' I thought this all must be a joke right? I mean how creative can the songs on an album that has that title be? But all those doubts left as soon as I heard the first few seconds of the lead single ''Power''.

With a catchy beat and relevant lyrics such as ''...they say I was the abomination of Obama's nation" with the much needed dose of humour how could Kanye fail to please any Hip Hop fans? He has finally combined the Kanye we met on the ''The College Drop Out'' and the Kanye who serenaded us. After hearing this track you will understand why he named his album a Good Ass Job!

The only way he could improve now is by correcting his grammar. LOL

...for the underdog!

Although Trey Songz released his first solo album in 2005, which was around the same time as Chris Brown, Trey did not see the same glory as his younger fellow VA native. The pair had different ideas as to where their career was going. While Chris went for the typical teenage route and Trey went for the deeper route releasing songs like '''I Gotta Make It.'' Although this album did relatively well in the Hip Hop/Rnb industry it was having trouble pleasing the commercial world. After a few mix tapes and the album Trey Day, Trey took some time to evaluate himself and expressed the new found Trey by shaving off his signature con-rows and releasing one official mix tape before his album, Anticipation. This was a new move for Trey as he was infamous for releasing various mix tapes and remixes that had no link to his following album. With Anticipation being a direct link to his album Ready it provided his fans with a taster of what is to come. Luckily the fans liked the taster and were eager for Ready and once Ready was finally released, it was definitely fulfilling. Infact it was so delicious that he has even won the Best Male Rnb Singer award over the original top dog, Chris Brown.

Trey is on a fast track to bigger and better and it is safe to say that he is no longer the under dog.

''Every dog has his day and today is your day''

... for forgiveness.

I must admit, I am a self proclaimed Chris Brown fanatic. So it comes as no surprise to the people who know me that after watching him perform at the 2010 BET awards that I thought the performance was magnificent. His dancing was so much like Michael that just for a second it felt as though Michael was on stage. But this was still not enough to be the highlight of his performance. The highlight was Chris's breakdown during his performance of ''Man In The Mirror.'' This to some was perceived as a publicity stunt but to others, such as myself, it seemed genuine. Just last year Chris was the outcast that wasn't allowed to perform a tribute to his late hero. And a whole year later he is the artist that performed the tribute and was greeted with a hug at the end of his hero's brother. I am aware of the horrific mistake that Chris made but I am also aware of the steps that he has taken to improve his behaviour and correct his mistakes. Everyone deserve a second chance and I believe that after this performance Chris does not only deserve it but he has earned his second chance.

...for recongnition!

Everyonce in a while there will be a It is time...for recognition! post. Today we will show our apperication for Roisin Murphy who is a pretty dope musician but an amazing fashion icon! Im sure her style looks familiar to the style of another amazing lady, Lady Gaga, but Riosin was the original and muted version.

Advice: Google her!

... for a fashion fix

Every Sunday it is time ... for a fashion fix! This week I was doing some Internet window shopping (no pun intended lol ) when I came across this amazing little crop top! I totally love it so this Sunday's challenge is for me to build a whole outfit around this crop top... here I go.

I have paired this simple crop top with these acid wash ripped jeans to make the overall look a little bit more edgy. With the top already revealing skin there is no need for the ladies to bare the legs however we still need to add that ''wow factor''. The jeans are long but show of your legs with the rips revealing skin. Now the only thing that is missing is that pop of colour. I believe that every outfit needs a pop of colour, and that is what we find with these heels. The earings and bangle just continues this simple and playful look. The earings are a mixture of the black and white theme with the pop of purple. The bangle is fun as it breaks the mould from the traditional plastic bangles, this bangle brings the class of pearls and the fun of plastic together and also accents the shoes. It also balances out the edge of the jeans. (I cant add more pictures so I have posted the bangle and earings as links)The outfit would look great with the classic long loose hair or edgy short hair. Rock it chicks!!

... to remember MJ

A year and two days ago, the world lost the KING of pop. Everyone has lost someone very important to them and we all know how hard it is to remember that horrific day. With this said, I would like to send my respects to the Jackson family.

He has had his share of contervarsy but the world while always remember him for all the great dances, charities and songs he has showed the world. :) thank you for the insperation Michael!!
